Open source and open standards are uniting to maximize the pace and relevance of both. Standards organization such as IETF and MEF realize that they need to change their mode of operation in order to continue to produce relevant standards in a timely manner. Open source hackathons aimed at producing reference implementations and tools in parallel to the definition of evolving standards is a key way standards organizations are embracing open source. Come learn more about the IETF Hackathons and MEF LSO Hackathons and how open standards and open source are brought together to the benefit of both communities.
