With Apache Hadoop turning 10 in 2016 and completing its journey through the Gartner Hype Cycle it presents a very telling case study of how to balance open source community interests, pace of technology innovation and enterprise adoption concerns. There is no denying that Apache Hadoop has earned the support of a large & diverse community, with significant interest from businesses, governments, academia & technology vendors. While the distributed data platform’s ecosystem continues to grow, there remains some debate about its ease of adoption & how a wide-range of users can gain business value from it. This talk will cover the experience of solution providers, app vendors & end users around deploying Apache Hadoop, the daily challenges they faced and how ODPi is working side-by-side with ASF on making sure that Hadoop's growth as a #1 big data platform doesn't slow down.
