The OpenChain Conformance Specification has since its launch in mid 2016 become a useful reference for businesses to show and put into practice compliance protocols for free and open source software licenses. Focusing on the internal processes and what the recommended practices are has been a useful way of leading businesses towards compliance not only with the licenses but with community practices. Jonas Öberg will talk about recent experiences he had with using OpenChain for free and open source projects. He will show what parts of OpenChain were relevant from a project perspective and how they were ultimately applied, as well as talking about what this means for the relations between free and open source software communities and industry at large.
