Microsoft is on a multi-year journey with open source. We've gone from scattered engagement to literally thousands of developers and projects on GitHub with whole businesses based on open technologies. Along the way we've encountered many opportunities and overcome numerous challenges. In this talk we discuss this journey with an eye towards enabling others to learn our mistakes and our successes, and openning discussions on the approaches of others. We will talk about how we frame the open source discussion in the company and how the policies, processes and tools in the company are being realigned towards collaboration and openness.
