With open source playing a larger and larger role in companies, an interesting problem has presented itself. How do you connect your internal goals in your company with the external dynamics of an open source community? Get it right and you get great engineering, community relations, and growth. Get it wrong and you can alienate both your employees and community members.

In this new presentation from leading community strategist and manager, Jono Bacon, he will present a set of proven methodologies for getting this balance right. He will cover how to structure your teams for external engagement, building strategy in conjunction with community needs/drivers, gathering and acting on feedback effectively, building relationships both internally and externally, tracking the success of this work, and how to manage conflict, consternation, and coups.

Overall this presentation will provide a practical framework for getting this balance right, building trust in your employees and community members, and building a fruitful relationship for everyone involved.
